The Office of Child and Youth Protection and Victim Assistance (OCYPVA) monitors potential inclement weather, which may impact the scheduled OCYPVA Virtus Session. In the event of inclement weather, OCYPVA works with the particular parish(es) and consider the recommendations of local governmental jurisdictions to make informed decisions. OCYPVA makes independent decisions regarding cancellations and rescheduling.
OCYPVA strives to make decisions at 1800 or 6 PM the day before the event. We also commit to prioritize everyones reasonable safety and to inform all participants and parishes of its decision. If inclement weather takes us by surprise, we appreciate your flexibility to address the OCYPVA decision as soon as possible.
OCYPVA recommends that all liaisons:
- Monitor emails coming from OCYPVA
- Provide an update on your website if the Virtus training is cancelled
- Place signs on the doors of the entrance to inform individuals that the session has been cancelled and will need to be rescheduled
